The Key’s to His Kingdom…
Matt 16: 18, 19 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. The Holy Spirit…
Everything He said was Spirit & Life….
Jn. 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. NASU
He said everyone had to be born again… Born of the Spirit…
Jn 3:3-9 Jesus answered and said with him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” 5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, “You must be born again.” 8 The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going, so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” 9 Nicodemus answered and said to Hem, “How can these things be?”

II. Jesus taught His disciples that the Spirit would prepare the way for their Ministry…
He would…
Give them utterance to speak…
Mat 10:19-20 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. NIV
Mark 13:11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. NIV
Luke 12:12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say." NASU
Convict the world in respect of sin, righteousness, and of judgment…
Jn 16:8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: NIV
Give Illumination of truth, that men might know the Lord…
Matt 22:43 He said to them, "How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him 'Lord'? For he says, NIV
Empower the disciples to do the works that Jesus did…
` Jn 14:12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. NASU
Become their Comforter…
Jn 14:16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; NASU
Guide them into all truth…
Jn 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come
Show them things to come…

Teach them what they need to know…
Jn 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. NIV
Help them pray…
Jn 14:12-13 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. NIV
Jn 16:23-24 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. NIV
Glorify the Son…
Jn 16:14,15 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
Enable Christ to be with them forever…
Jn 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 After a little while the world will behold Me no more; but you will behold Me; because I live, you shall live also. 20 In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has By commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves ME; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him.”
Matt 28:20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

III. Jesus told them to tarry and wait for this impartation before they began their work…
Stay in the city until you are clothed with power…
Luke 24:49 "And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high." NASU
Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift…
Acts 1:4-5, 8 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." NIV
Peter Preaches… He has poured forth this which you both see and hear…

Summary:
“the whole thing revolves around the person of the Master. Basically his way was his life. And so it must be with his followers.
