CHURCHES PLANTING CHURCHES

Everything is designed to reproduce after its kind. Local churches are to be apostolic in nature...a non-apostolic church could be underdeveloped or even an invalid Church.

I.      Strategic Development....

                A. This should not be a question rather an expectation.

                B.  It should be a part of every local church vision and mission

C.  If every Christian would win and disciple one person, every church plant one church, and every church adopt one nation, we would finish the job Jesus left us to do.

D. If this were the plan from the beginning we would come nearer to really doing this.

E.  We would plan for it, pray for it, budget for it, train for it, release for it.

F.  Sequence to Church Planting

1. Determine where and when

a.                Preaching tours, preaching points, planting places

b.                What size, how much money, how long should we wait before planting

c.                Macedonian call

d.                Great commission mandate

e.                Are people praying for a church in their area?

f.                 How far away should we locate?

2. Gather a team

a.                Many different gifts needed

b.                Some may not be on location

c.                You can do this work very creatively

d.                Make sure your church is on board

3. Evangelize - By every means with every means...the gospel is powerful

4. Gather converts - Don’t get stuck in the Sunday morning Christian syndrome here

                        5. Disciple

a.                    You cannot build a church with believers, you must have disciples

b.              Hebrews six truths are essential...sequential preaching

c.              Weed the garden

6. Establish foundational truths and vision - They continued in the apostolic doctrine... set very clear mandates here

       7.  Raise up and appoint elders - This is a whole series of seminars and conversations

8. Leave - Give them a chance to work things out on their own... visit to supervise

9.  Release – Every church is autonomous…self governing, self propagating, self supporting, and self theologizing

       10.  Provide ongoing support and input as needed (influential authority, not positional)

       11.  Positional authority is accepted in points 1 through 9

II.  Training and coaching...

A.      Coaches teach the plays, condition the athletes, and call the plays, but they don’t run the plays on the field.

B.    First, you watch me.... then we do it together... then I watch you.... then you teach someone else.

C.    The main thing the team needs is the wisdom of your perspective... the encouragement of your words. The affirmation of you authority... and the confidence of you accessibility

III.   Overcoming Obstacles...

                A.  The main cause of failure is giving up to soon.

B.  The man you put in place must be the man for the job and have the ability to touch the grace for the place.... grace always succeeds

C.   The main obstacle is the one between your ears.... obey God’s word... just do it!
