"The River" West Chariton Fellowship   is located in downtown historic Novinger Missouri. Novinger is just 7 miles west of Kirksville Mo on Highway 6. Located in the Chairton river valley, it is known for it's rich coal mining history and its black river-bottom farming ground.

"The River" is pastored by Jeff and Vickie Dodson who make their home in Novinger Missouri. As a young boy Jeff would visit his grandparents in Novinger, he gradually fell in love with this little mining town and its people in North East Missouri. As soon as he graduated from his Kansas City High School he moved to the Novinger area and has been there for the last 31 something years. In 2004 Jeff and Vickie purchased an old run-down building in the downtown area of Novinger. Over the next five years they along with a small but dedicated group of people have remodeled the buildiing into something that would surprise anyone who visits this small town on the river.

Jeff's vision is to see the entire community of Novinger revived and restored. After trying to bring this about through political office and community service, he realized that the gospel was the place where he had to start. By changing hearts with the gospel, he believes that God can change a community. Jeff has faith is to see God glorified in every nook and cranny of this small city.
